And then there were two! Meet the TOP 2 FINALISTS for the CHANNEL [V] PRESENTER SEARCH 2012: BRIDGET HUSTWAITE and MARTY SMILEY! In just seven days, one of these amazingly talented human beings will score themselves the gig of a lifetime, joining CHANNEL [V] as a new presenter.

The TOP 2 was announced live on a very special episode of The Riff this morning on which all of the TOP 4 appeared. BRIDGET and MARTY both survived some pretty tough auditions which this week saw them hit the red carpet at the ASTRA Awards to interview some of the biggest stars of the night as well as present an award during the ceremony. Their undeniable talent shone through in all of their performances.

Sweet faced yet sharp tongued, 21 year old BRIDGET HUSTWAITE hails from Ballarat. While she’s never had any TV experience before, she’s proven to be a complete natural. She’s a Channel [V] viewer through and through having grown up watching the channel since she was 12. BRIDGET counts The Presets, Xavier Rudd, Matt Corby, Foster The People and The xx among her favourite artists.

We first met 21 year old Melbourne boy, MARTY SMILEY, last year when he won a blog jockey spot to work behind the scenes on an episode of B430. Charismatic with a lightning fast wit, MARTY is a youth worker at the Reach Foundation and runs school workshops around Victoria that encourage positive youth development. Some of his favourite artists include Bon Iver, Beyonce, Kanye West, Michael Jackson, Tupac Shakur (the real one, not the hologram).

Channel [V] would like to say a special thank you to CHARLIE COTTON and GUS KELL who both are fantastic talent and made the judge’s decision incredibly difficult.

In what will probably be the longest week of their lives, BRIDGET HUSTWAITE and MARTY SMILEY will be back on The Riff next Saturday 30 June at 10.30am when we will reveal the winner of CHANNEL [V]
