Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is a great comeback to the franchise in the same game style as its predecessor Batman Lego in 2008 with cute and funny characters, easy controls and a clever and easy way to follow the plot.
In Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes you have to stop two of the most iconic DC’s villains such as Lex Luthor and The Joker who are teaming up to take over the country by trying to make Lex the new president (Sounds familiar?). However, Batman gets a little help too not only from Robin but Superman who joins to battle his iconic nemesis.
The game is fantastic with lots of improvements on the franchise such as outstanding graphics, Midlevel checkpoints, the ability of move around in every area in Gotham city including Arkham, The Botanic Gardens and the Bat-Cave to find coins, unlock secret items and so on, making this virtual scenario the biggest to date in the Lego franchise. Moreover, the characters in this game can now speak, not just miming like in previous games, thanks to voice actors such as Nolan North, Rob Paulsen, Claudia Black, Tara Strong and Jennifer Hale.
Classic elements are also back, such as the capability to destroy every Lego brick, funny characters and tons of vehicles to unlock which you can use at anytime. Plus, during the game you can defeat and unlock certain iconic DC characters such as Siniestro, General Zod, Catwoman and Two Faces in order to play with them. If you decide to free play the game, you can change your character and have cool duels between heroes and villains.
As we said, the story is fun and easy to follow and the best part of it is its Arkham Asylum style with some jigsaw that is not easy to solve sometimes. There is an epic ending with the full justice league in your control to defeat a giant Robot mastered by the Joker and Lex.
The only let down of the game is the navigation issues as it is hard to find your place in the map and the compass provided in the upper-left corner is very confusing, fading easily with other elements on the game. Still you can put custom marks on the map to solve such issue.
Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is the best Lego game so far as it brings all the magic of the Lego world to the super hero franchise with clever and funny design and a very intuitive game play that allows you to keep playing your unlocked characters long after you finish the game. So we highly recommend this game for everyone at home!
Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is out now and is a must play!
