On 30 June 2012, Sydney’s Event Cinemas George street turned into a big pop party full of pink for the Australian premiere of Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D.
As expected, a sea of die-hard Katy Perry Fans with signs, gifts and blue wigs arrived early at the venue to see their favorite pop star Katy Perry who was the very person confirmed to host the premiere and walk the pink carpet to celebrate the release of her film Part of Me.
Before her arrival, other guests present were Ricki Lee, Jack Vidgen, Reece Mastin, Ruby Rose, The Voice stars Sarah De Bono, Emma Birdsall, Michelle Bridges and so on.
Around 6:15 pm, Katy arrived looking stunning in her sparkling dress, at the joy of all her screaming fans, posing for some quick official photos and doing first round of interviews, to leave enough time for her fans, not only signing autographs and taking pictures but also talking to many face to face and organizing movie passes for some of them to walk the Pink carpet and see her film immediately, before anyone else in Australia.
On the second round of interviews, we were lucky to ask Katy a few questions who was extremely nice and talkative during our short interview.
SR. Hi Katy , very nice to meet you and congratulations on the film.
KP. Thanks guys, it is very lovely to meet you here, I`m very excited for the release of the film in this beautiful country with all these lovely fans.
SR. We just wanna ask you, how much of your experience in working on an animated film like The Smurfs has helped you to produce this very personal film of yours and what was your motivation to do it?

KP. Well, as you know these are 2 totally different kind of things…The Smurfs was an animated film, where I went in basically my pajamas to do voice overs and it gave me my first steps onto the big screen which I never ever dreamed of doing.
This film is following me all around last year and it tells my story of how I got here. It shows some obstacles I`d to go through to get here…and it basically and hopefully inspires people, like these beautiful fans around us right now, that they too can do it and follow their dreams if they want and they don`t have to change who they are to do it…they don`t have to fit in, they can stick out and always being themselves!
SR. Thanks for your time Katy, we know how busy you are tonight at such a lovely premiere…fans are waiting for you!

After our interview, Katy gave all her time to her fans, trying not to let anyone down, spending more than an hour at the pink carpet stopping for photos, autographs, giving hugs, kisses and thanking every fan for being there and supporting her film, showing how a super star should be, especially at movie premieres where they are often rushed in. Lucky for all the Perry fans, Katy dedicates her time to people, making many “teenage dreams” come true…Good on ya’ Katy!
