Yesterday Sony Ericsson Australia celebrated the launch of its new Xperia range of entertaining smartphones at PYD warehouse, Waterloo, Sydney. Spotlight Report was there to cover “On the Spot” the launch of these amazing gadgets.
Passports to Xperia granted access to Sony Ericsson’s world of entertainment to 150 consumers, media and industry partners. Guests were transported from the Red carpet through a blue-lightening tunnel to found themselves being served drinks and canapés by Lara Croft (Tomb Raider), Ezio (Assassin creed) and rubbing shoulders with Bruce Lee and Slash on the dance floor.
Popular DJs THE FADERS entertained the venue, as Sony Ericsson’s new Xperia smartphones were brought to life within entertaining lands that had slight twists on the every day.
The three stations for these amazing phones were set to introduce the guest into Today’s arc Gallery where the future of entertainment art came alive with Xperia arc. As you keep walking, the ocean sounds and twinkling stars were all part of the magic of the Full Moon Party @ neo beach where the Xperia neo’s impressive camera captured the vibe. Guest were part of the experience painting the wall with fluorescent paint and later on comparing their shots using their own phone camera against Xperia Neo new technology. When you see the difference it just blow your mind!.
Later on, you were conduced to PLAY Junction, a modern travel hub, that showed guests the new level of smartphone entertainment and mobile gaming with the Xperia PLAY. We tried “Assassin Creed” and “Fifa” and we just can say wow! just an amazing quality that soon will be available to download in your phone!, it was the dream for any gamer was like a PSP and phone at the same time.
As long as the guest passed by the lands their Xperia passport was been stamped in each land, with a total of 3 stamps they run into the draw for one of the amazing smartphones, but even just one lucky winner had the prize the guests didn’t go home empty handed as one elegant gift bag was held at the end of the evening.

People are looking for entertainment from their smartphones and the Sony Ericsson Xperia brand represents the most entertaining smartphones; we brought this to life through our event last night,” said Brendan Johnston, Managing Director, Sony Ericsson Oceania.
