Social Distortion and Gaslight Anthem team up

Published on September 26, 2010 with No Comments

In a double billing that is sure to make punk fans Australia-wide wet themselves, Soundwave have announced that Social Distortion and Gaslight Anthem are pairing up for a one-off Sidewave in Melbourne next year.

If ever there was a gig worth getting on a plane to see, then this is it. Lead by founding member Mike Ness, Social Distortion came screaming onto the burgeoning Californian punk scene in 1978 and quickly made their mark with the release of the band’s critically-acclaimed debut album Mommy’s Little Monster. Thirty years, seven albums and countless members later, Social Distortion still put on one of the most incensed punk rock shows going.

And if seeing Ness in action isn’t enough to get your palms sweaty than getting up close with New Jersey alt-punks Gaslight Anthem must surely be. It has been two tears since Brian Fallon and co were down under and in that time they have released their sensational third album American Slang, which had music media the world over drooling all over again.
