Following the news about the eventual Assassin’s Creed film, another video game adaptation is now in development, with Universal hiring screenwriters Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan to rewrite the video game film adaptation for the Play Station hit God of War.

Melton and Dunstan are best known for their work on Saw IV, V, VI, and Saw 3D, which is a good sign for the die-hard fans of the game, because this will mean tons of gore, violence and very dark touches for this epic spartan adventure.

God of War is the story of Kratos, a Spartan warrior who finds out he is a demigod who seeks vengeance in order to free himself from the control of the gods, even fighting against the Titans to aim his ultimate goal.
